- Starting from the 2024 academic year, IFLS800 <Academic English I> has only become a General Studies Required course and is recommended to be taken in either the first or second semester of the first year.
- Students who admitted before 2024 (~2023) must take IFLS800 <Academic English I> and IFLS801 <Academic English II> sequentially.(You must complete Academic English I as a prerequisite before enrolling in Academic English II.)
- Non-1st year students must register under the "Retake/Non-completion section."
- For domestic transfer students, registration is required under the "Retake/Non-completion (intermediate level) section."
- Since 2012, <Academic English I & II> can only be taken for the first time during regular semesters. (Initial enrollment is not allowed during seasonal semesters.)
- Separate sections are operated for Student Athletes.
Course Objectives
<Academic English I> is a General Studies Required course designed to enhance students' English proficiency for academic purposes and improve their ability to communicate effectively. The course is designed to enhance general English skills applicable across all academic fields. Based on educational content, the course incorporates a range of communication activities designed to help students develop practical English language skills applicable in real-life settings. Special emphasis is placed on improving students' comprehension and reading abilities in English through exposure to diverse academic texts and vocabulary related to their major fields.
